Nasir Hyder
President
Nasir Hyder has 19 years of engineering and design in Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EI&C). Currently, Nasir works as a Senior Facilities Engineer at Aera Energy, LLC. Nasir received his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona, Masters of Science in Technical Management from Johns Hopkins University, and holds a Professional Engineering License in Control Systems in California.
Nasir has been with Aera for 10 years and prior to Aera, Nasir worked with TJ Cross (now Parsons), Fluor (Irvine, CA on the TOTAL Port Arthur Refinery), Kobelco EDTI Compressor (skid manufacturer). Nasir’s interested include Control Systems, Instrumentation, Standardization, Fit-for-Purpose, and Teaching.
Nasir currently lives in Southern California with his wife, and three daughters.

Shawn Hatton
Student Liaison
Shawn Hatton has over 15 years of experience in electrical, instrumentation, and control system design. Shawn works directly with end-users to develop automation and control system solutions.
Prior to joining Bedrock, Shawn led engineering teams to design, develop, integrate, and test automation and control systems in a variety of industries including Oil and Gas, Pharmaceutical, IIoT, Utilities, and more. Shawn is a Senior Field Automation Specialist at Bedrock Automation and a part-time College Professor at Bakersfield College where he teaches PLC programming and Electronics. Shawn combines a deep understanding of technology and a strong passion for teaching to deliver a unique perspective on the complex problems facing the automation industry.
